Kathryn Bartlett lost her friend to leukaemia 16 years ago. Not one to sit idle, Kathryn is putting her money (and her hair) where her mouth is for the 20th anniversary of the World’s Greatest Shave next week.
“I like fundraising and volunteering in my home town of Moe. I like to help people in need before myself.”
The Moe Life Skills participant is no stranger to championing causes. In 2016 Kathryn raised $500 for the same event and she is looking to beat that record this year. The year before that she and other members of the Power of Self Advocacy Group successfully campaigned for a safe pedestrian crossing on High Street in Moe after witnessing a tragic accident.
On Friday 16th March from 4pm, community members are invited to join Kathryn to raise money to help beat blood cancer at the ‘high street community hub’ in Moe at 4pm. People can come and watch Kathryn’s hair get shaved off and/or have their hair coloured for a gold coin donation or more.
Donations can be made at Moe Life Skills Community Centre (2A High Street, Moe), the ‘high street community hub’ (4 High Street, Moe) or on the day at the event.
We hope to see you there!
